Our story · A note from Chana
First,
un cafecito.
Wild Rituäl began with my mom’s sacred morning cup, my abuela’s invitation to pull up a chair, and a wild idea I couldn’t leave alone.
Pull up a chair
Made for a new beginning.
A family ritual
Before it was a brand,
it was a moment.
In our house, you didn’t mess with Mom before her first cup of coffee. She wakes up early just to sit somewhere quiet with her cup: no interruptions, a little time to reflect, and a moment to get ready for the day.
Did I inherit her ability to wake up early and sit peacefully with my coffee? I did not. Mine is usually ready in case I have to hit the ground running, and whether I actually get to sit down with it is another story.
But coffee has always meant comfort to me. Sometimes it’s a quiet moment to collect yourself; sometimes it’s a reason to stay a little longer.
My abuela’s first question when you walk through her door is always:
“¿Quieres un cafecito?”
We can sit at her table for hours while she tells stories about when she was young, and those hours mean so much to me.
That’s a tradition I want to keep alive: for myself, for my kids, and for anyone who could use a reason to sit down for a minute.
The founder’s leap
It started with
twelve bags.
A small first order.
A very big feeling.
I’m a brand creator, and I’ve spent more than 20 years helping ideas become brands. For a long time, I wanted to build something of my own, from the slightly crazy idea in my head to the thing someone takes home.
The original plan was a coffee cart for private and corporate events, bringing people together over a cup. Then my husband challenged me to think bigger: find my own coffee and sell it under my own brand.
So I started learning, tasting, asking questions, and talking to local roasters. Working with a roaster, I developed my first flavor profile: rich and balanced, with the kind of flavor I’d happily drink black.
Then I ordered my first 12 bags. A very small number of bags carrying a very large amount of enthusiasm, and the moment I thought, “I’m actually doing this.”
The name holds both parts of me.
A little wild.
Deeply rooted in ritual.
Wild
The leap: following an idea into an industry I was still learning, with a love of coffee and a vision for the brand.
Rituäl
What grounds it: Mom’s quiet mornings, my abuela’s table, and the cafecito moments I want to pass on.
Wild Rituäl brings together the things I love: great design, building something of my own, a really good cup of coffee, and an excuse to spend a little longer with someone.
An invitation
Your moment.
Your ritual.
Whether yours is a sacred, please-don’t-talk-to-me-yet morning cup or an afternoon at the table that turns into hours of conversation, that moment is yours.
I’d love for Wild Rituäl to be part of it.
